A family adventure tailored for 4 people splitting their time between the colonial city of Granada and the beaches of San Juan del Sur. Partake in zip lining, kayaking, surfing and sailing. Phew!

You will fly into Managua and transfer to the nearby city of Granada. The oldest European city on the American mainland, Granada represents Nicaragua and Central America at its most photogenic. Over the years the gentrification of Granada has produced an eclectic restaurant and bar scene, and numerous little boutique hotels springing up behind the city’s ornate carved doors. The best thing to do in Granada is just to walk around, soaking up the atmosphere. Granada also has easy access to Lake Nicaragua and its Isletas, the breathtakingly beautiful Laguna de Apoyo, a 200m-deep crater lake with “healing waters”, and also the cloud forests of Volcan Mombacho. While here you will stay at the Casa del Consulado for three nights. In Granada you can take a zip line canopy tour on cloud forested slopes of Mombacho Volcano that looms over the city of Granada and we’ll also show you Lake Nicaragua, the largest lake in Central America, the 9th largest lake in the Americas and the 19th largest lake in the world!

On Day 4 you’ll check out of your hotel in Granada and transfer to the beach town of San Juan del Sur, where you’ll stay at the famous Pelican Eyes Resort that looks over the town and bay. San Juan del Sur is a surfing mecca, and while you’re here on your adventure vacation, we’ll pick you up for a family four hour surf lesson designed to get you out on the water – which is the best place to be in San Juan del Sur! You’ll also be able to enjoy a private sailing trip on Pelican Eyes’ own 70′ sloop. You’ll explore hidden beaches and experience an awesome sunset! There will also be time for some plain old relaxing and hanging out on the beach or by the pool as a family before coming home!

Day 1: Fly into Managua and transfer 45 minutes to the colonial city of Granada. Stay at Casa del Consulado for the first three nights of your Nicaragua Family Adventure.

Day 2: The first day of your adventure will find you taking a zip line canopy tour on cloud forested slopes of Mombacho Volcano that looms over the city of Granada.

Day 3: Enjoy a kayak tour of the Isletas of Lake Nicaragua.

Day 4: Transfer to San Juan del Sur (approx 2.5 hours), where you’ll stay at the famous Pelican Eyes Resort that looks over the town and bay.

Day 5: Enjoy a day learning to surf as a family with our expert instructors.

Day 6: Enjoy a private sailing trip on Pelican Eyes’ own 70′ sloop. You’ll explore hidden beaches and experience an awesome sunset!

Day 7: Spend today relaxing on the beach or by the pool.

Day 8: Tear yourself out of your hammock and let us transfer you back to the airport for home.
